From the president: Maria’s Story
Maria’s story is another one of the hundreds of patients who experienced God’s care in life’s most difficult moments.
Maria arrived at Katallasso carrying a quiet fear she could barely name. For months, she had struggled with swallowing and was told it was reflux, but the medication never helped. She felt small, unseen, and uncertain of what would come next. At a friend’s urging, she finally walked through Katallasso’s doors.
From the very beginning, her experience was different. She was greeted by name at the front desk. A nurse sat with her, unhurried, listening closely. Her provider spoke with clarity and compassion, guiding her through each step. When the diagnosis of thyroid cancer came, it echoed in her mind like a storm she couldn’t escape. Yet even then, she was not alone. Counseling services gave her space to voice her fears and begin releasing them.
Maria brought her anxiety, sleepless nights, and questions. In return, she received presence, care, and hope. Over time, her fear softened, her voice steadied, and in the midst of treatment, Maria found healing with a restored faith.
It is because of your faithful support that Maria experienced physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration. This kind of care, where patients are seen, heard, and cared for at every stage, is what makes stories like Maria’s possible.
