When Vic and Judy Hendrickson first learned about Katallasso Family Health Center, they immediately recognized something special.
Vic's connection came through one of the clinic's original founders who was a longtime friend and former ministry teammate in Ukraine. As they learned more about the ministry, they were drawn to its unique mission.
"We were inspired by the opportunity to be part of a Christian ministry that serves a large group of people in York County who are in need of quality medical care, but are without the financial resources to access it," they shared.
"We were also encouraged to find that the clinic is wholly supported by churches and donors, not having to depend upon state or federal support to operate."
A visit to the clinic deepened their conviction.
“Seeing patients being cared for confirmed in our minds that the vision the founders had for Katallasso was a ministry that we wanted to be involved in.”
Their commitment to monthly giving is rooted in a simple understanding of God's generosity. "As recipients of God's blessings in our personal lives, we find it natural to want to help others who are in need of compassionate medical care combined with a genuine concern for the spiritual condition of every client that comes through Katallasso's doors."
Over the years, they have found joy not only in hearing stories of lives changed, but also in seeing the impact on those who serve.
"It is incredibly rewarding to hear how people are healed and blessed by highly qualified providers who really care about their patients, both medically and spiritually," they said.
"We are also blessed by the testimonies of many of the providers in how refreshing and rewarding their volunteer work is to them personally."
Looking ahead, Vic and Judy hope Katallasso continues to demonstrate Christ's love throughout York County.
"Katallasso Family Health Center fills a special, critical niche in the medical needs of many people across York County. We pray that the ministry continues to grow in their ability to faithfully serve these people and demonstrate that Christians are committed to serving others in the name of Jesus Christ."
